I was delighted about what Bek had achieved and stated that amount would provide equipment for a “whole kitchen”. So we all went shopping with Loc and Mr. Hung (the caretaker) and purchased the following items: 290 litre stainless steel fridge, hot plates with gas burners; oven;
accessory items such as rice cooker, hot water urn, stainless steel stock pot & saucepans, etc.
With top up funds from other sources, a 10 kg automatic washing machine was also purchased. Mr Hung is now busy installing the new kitchen and all the equipment with great enthusiasm.
As the under-cover area is now all cleared (see photo below), visitors can visit the property with the prospect of having refreshments in more comfort.

WHAT A 12 YEAR OLD CAN DO!
Bek Haynes (aged 12) was really looking forward to her holiday in Vietnam in November 2009. It was suggested by her mum (Elisa) that she consider raising funds for the Company of Grace Project – Bek was really keen to purchase a significant item for the property so she decided to take photos of Australian scenery and to make post cards, selling them for $2.00 each. This raised $870.00 over a period of several months. The principal of Blackwood Primary School also supported her by allowing a student-free uniform day with each student being encouraged to bring a gold coin donation – this raised an additional $252.00.
Bek, her Mum & Grandmother arrived in Ho Chi Minh City mid November and at the first meeting with me, she mentioned that she had raised $1,152.00 and suggested the purchase of a stove for the Project.
